Hi. This is the first time I have ever “blogged.” I wonder whether I will get infected with the “blogging” passion?
Any suggestions for what we should be doing this Lenten Season?

In Pleasanton, California, they observe a Lenten tradition that I have not found anywhere in the Philippines. A basket of broken pottery pieces sits by the church vestibule, and people are invited to write on those pottery pieces the names of persons they wish to be included in the liturgical prayers during Lent. As they enter the church, they are to place the pottery pieces with the names in a clay pot near the altar. This practice may be introduced here in DEH.
Another practice that I found unique and solemn (somewhere near Chicago, Illinois) is that of displaying a huge wooden cross in the center aisle. During Good Friday, families are invited to approach the Cross, one family at a time, touch it for a few minutes while reciting their respective prayers/petitions.
How about having a Lenten Recollection?
