Our DEH Community
Our DEH Community is an independent blog about life in and around Don Enrique Heights. It is an attempt to document the things that make up DEH life — from the ordinary, everyday things, to the larger concerns we face together.
We are committed to building community life. We believe that each member of the community is a stakeholder and should have a say in matters of mutual concern. As such, Our DEH Community aims to provide an opportunity for community members to keep informed, to interact, and to discuss matters that affect us the most.
This blog was put up and is maintained by members of the community. It is a tribute to the sense of community and neighborliness that makes DEH our home.
Don Enrique Heights
DEH is one of the subdivisions in the Commonwealth area, in the northern part of Quezon City. It is just minutes away from the Sandiganbayan, the Civil Service Commission, and the Batasang Pambansa. Directly across its Commonwealth Avenue entrance is the Saint Peter Parish. Also across the highway are a number of commercial establishments.
At the heart of DEH is Our Lady of Remedies Chapel, under the Parish of Saint Benedict. Before its renovation, the chapel was home to a mural by renowned Filipino painter and DEH homeowner, the late Ricarte Purugganan.
The community reflects the growth and the changing face of the Commonwealth area. From just a handful of residents, DEH is now home to some 300 households as well as a number of nongovernment organizations (NGOs) and small businesses.
